Chris Marsay is a new postdoctoral research associate in Cliff Bucks’s lab.
Chris’s primary focus will be the being collection of atmospheric aerosol samples during the 2015 US GEOTRACES Arctic research cruise, and subsequent analysis of those samples for trace metals. Chris’s previous research has encompassed measuring dissolved iron concentrations in the Sargasso Sea and Ross Sea, atmospheric deposition of iron, and measuring organic carbon and trace metals associated with marine particulate material.
Chris is originally from Whitby in the UK and completed his PhD at the University of Southampton in 2012, after previously spending six years as a research technician at Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. Prior to his move to Skidaway, he had two short postdoctoral appointments, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. and at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
Chris likes running, playing tennis and soccer and enjoy traveling and learning about new places.
