Small boat operations have been kept busy by the Alexander lab. In the next few months, they will wrap up mapping Wassaw Sound, where technician Mike Robinson is collecting single-beam echosounder data to fill in some remaining gaps in shallow water areas and will begin mapping Ossabaw Sound using the RV Blanton. Technician Claudia Venherm will begin collecting geo-referenced video imagery of channel banks in the five Georgia rivers and ten major salt marsh estuaries for habitat classification and restoration planning. Robinson and technician Lee Ann DeLeo will continue high and low flow salinity surveys of these same rivers and salt marsh estuaries.
